Neighbor Spotlight: Fueling Up with ReAnimator Coffee

At Dwell 2nd Street, we’re grateful to be surrounded by businesses that offer amazing products and services and care about our community. 

Our neighbor, ReAnimator Coffee, is a prime example. They’ve made it their goal to provide their customers with world-class coffee and a menu that changes every eight weeks depending on which beans are in season. Additionally, they recently donated 50 percent of cafe sales to Black Lives Matter Philadelphia and their endorsed organizations.

ReAnimator started off as a specialty coffee roaster in the basement of a row home in Fishtown. As the brand grew, they eventually opened a full cafe in the same area. “It has been really interesting to watch the neighborhoods change, and we’re happy to have been a part of it for nearly 10 years now,” Matt Scottoline, Director of Marketing, told us. “This area of the city has a culture that feels very driven by art and cuisine, and we enjoy being at the intersection of those things.”

Scottoline also offered further insight on their products. “Our coffees are incredibly seasonal, with most micro lots only staying on the menu for around eight weeks at a time. We only serve coffees fresh from the harvest, and we sell out before they begin to age too much.”

Scottoline encourages new customers to order the same drink they generally do at other cafes to see just how different it can taste at ReAnimator. For adventurers, he suggests exploring the single drink menu, and either having a filter coffee made via pour over or trying a single origin espresso for a unique experience.
